Hey there!

I'm Sarah Parro.

I'm a UX writer, product designer, and creative professional based in Boston, Massachusetts. I have a content creation background in writing (both technical and creative), editing, publishing, and project management. My natural inclination for thinking about how products work — be they mobile or web applications, pieces of writing, books, or research tools — and how to make them work better, drives me as a designer.

My creative work in theatre, improv and stand-up comedy, sketch writing, and visual art has taught me firsthand the importance of knowing your audience, knowing yourself, and trusting your teammates. I believe when UX design is approached with humanity and empathy, it can elevate and brighten people's lives.

Conducted usability testing, presented findings, and created key redesign mockups for client’s sustainable fashion website.

Design Sprint (June 2021)

Created a mobile app prototype to help museum and gallery visitors better engage with artwork they’re viewing in real time, following the Google Ventures Design Sprint method.

Developed an original mobile app to curate resources for new mothers. Tasks included selecting and researching the problem space, interviewing users, creating personas, writing content, wireframing, building a high-fidelity prototype, and user testing.

L'Acquolina Pasta
UX Writing Workshop (February 2021)

Defined UX writing guidelines and designed cooking instructions for L’Acquolina Pasta’s mobile app. Tasks included establishing brand voice and tone, content mining, and vocabulary analysis.
